Subject: PUPT: "Black" Art for the Marionette Stage


Black Art for the Marionette Stage, Chapter Five of H.H. Whanslaw's
"Specialsed Puppetry" (1948) is devoted to the subject as described by
the original poster and Mr.Moynihan.  Shining lights directly into the
audience does seem primitive nowadays,but was,  no doubt, quite
effective for it's time.
