I just posted a tongue-in-cheek reply which I am now regretting. I would rather that I had avoided these discussion altogether- having made the mistake of entering the fray, I will speak my mind clearly. I must say, that I wish that people would criticize each other's puppetry performance with all the candor that is going into discussion of web-based etiquette. I ask you- who would have this sort of discussion were we face to face? It is unseemly. The truth of the matter is that although I was away from my computer for several days, I have been watching this discussion unfold and hoping it would peter out. That it has not, I find more than a little distressing. Finally, I would ask that if one finds exception with anything that I am stating here, that the response be sent to me directly rather than to the list at large. This is not to avoid embarrassment, but simply based on the assumption that since I don't wish to read other's arguments, perhaps they don't wish to read mine. -- Mary Robinette Kowal Other Hand Productions http://www.otherhandproductions.com "Elinor agreed to it all, for she did not think he deserved the compliment of rational opposition."
