Subject: RE: PUPT: Puppetry Critiscm/ Parlor puppetry

I don't know if this is related, but I remember reading years ago about Art Parlors during the late 19th century & early 20th century in which artists, writers & musicians would get together & discuss art & put on performances.
Forgive me if I get some of the facts mixed up (it's been a while), but I believe Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, George Sand's puppet shows, along with other artists' puppet shows & performance were born from that era. Anyone have info on that period & those parlor get togethers? Books or articles to recommend?

I've always imagined myself in Edwardian to late Flapper clothing, hanging out with my friends, collaborating on poetry, music, theatre, visual arts & puppetry. Maybe one day...I can dream... probably would have to move to somewhere else though, away from Big Sky Country... <LOL>
