Okay I could use some ventilation as well (now that Robert opened up the
exhaust)

My feeling is thus:
-If nobody has an opinion about your show, you've goofed bigtime.
-If everybody loves your show, you've probably not gone far enough.
-If nobody likes your show, you haven't done your homework.
-If half the people love it and the other half hate it, then you've got
something worthwhile. And if there are fistfights in the lobby between the
pro- and anti- audience blocks-- while the Powers-That-Be are screaming for
your head, while the rest of town marches in to save your neck--then you
know you've hit a bullseye!

But hey, don't take my word for it. My idea of a market driven economy is a
ten speed bicycle.
