Thanks for the challenge of thinking up great puppet
literature.
Three came to mind, "Ubu Roi", "Doctor Faustus", and
"Equus".

Argue about how many puppets are in any of the three. 
Argue if one puppet in a show, makes it a puppet show.

Or if the horse characters of Equus are mask or
puppet. (if they aren't puppets. then is Big Bird a
mask, a puppet or a body costume?)

There was also an opera or symphony that was puppetry
based (NOT Stravinsky, NOT Petrushka) that I couldn't
remember. Argh! It will eat a hole through my head.
