I think that my favorite objection to one of our shows was from
a mom wanting to book a birthday party. While pitching "Frog &
Jenny" (target audience - preschoolers thru age 8, perhaps the
most non-offensive show ever built but still stomachable by
adults) I told her that Jenny, bored with waiting for a fish at
her fishing hole, pretends that it is a magic fishing hole. The
kids then get to say the magic words with Jenny and help her
fish for what they wish for. The parent was concerned that it
would teach her kids that magic/dark arts was acceptable and did
not book the show. In her defense, it went against their
religion. In my defense, I didn't cut the magic fishing hole.

Oh, and incidentally, I also lost a booking once because the
parent thought that the concept of "Frog & Jenny" would be above
her three-year-old's head. Oh, how I pity that child. To think
that in high school she'll still be pinning notes to his chest
to remind him to return his library books. (MY mom only had to
do that until I was seven, but then I was a prodigy.)
