Hey all, thanks for your input.  Do you mind if I print out your  responses & show prospective employees how much people really do charge for shows & workshops so they don't think I'm making it up?  I can white out your names... 
It's just that on the few interviews I have gone on, when I mention my range of rates, they turn white as ghosts- as if they don't believe me - I have had one place tell me that they were worried I was 'too professional' & was hoping I would volunteer instead (well, more than one place).

It would be a good edition to my presentation case.
