Subject: PUPT: Re:Plastic rods Date: Sat, 12 Oct 2002 18:10:28 -0400 There are several kinds of plastic rod, sometimes found at high-end craft stores which can be heat-formed --not unfortunately an activity for kids. The "swirly" shape of Indonesian rods would be easier to form from heavy gauge aluminum sculpture wire - the stiffer kind. A nail-board jig would be the best way. It can be painted to make it resemble the original by first spraying with metaal primer - again not for kids, then painting with acrylics. Twisting lengths of the lighter kind together might also work. _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com --- Personal replies to: "will stackman" <profwill66-AT-hotmail.com> --- List replies to: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Admin commands to: majordomo-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Archives at: http://lists.village.virginia.edu/~spoons
