Subject: PUPT: Puppet Book Health Warning Date: Wed, 30 Oct 2002 14:11:02 -0000 This is a multi-part message in MIME format. Dear Colleagues This concerns the new 402 page book put out by Mellen titled 'Marionette Theater of the Symbolist Era' edited by Keith Tribble. My advice is not to buy it unless you know exactly what you are letting yourselves in for and are happy with that. I have just received copies of this publication. The publisher's blurb sounded intensely interesting, and no doubt all the contents are, which is confirmed by some pieces I have just read. However, several chapters which make up a full half of the book is in the Russian language. Admittedly there are brief English summaries at the end of these chapters, but my point is that the publishers should have indicated this, especially for a book priced at $129.95 and =A389.95. I shall be returning at least half of the stock I have received, meanwhile I would be glad to hear from people who read Russian. Best wishes to all customers, Have a happy and peaceful festive season Ray DaSilva 63 Kennedy Road, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX26 2BE. UK.
