Yes.  It helps immensely.  I always take a mic anyway because I've had voice 
trouble in the past and don't want to go through it again.  

The letter has even improved puppeteers' tips.  The first time one of our 
pups got a tip, she said, "Gee, I feel like I'm in the service industry 
instead of the arts."  But she liked the extra money.   And we figure these 
humbling experiences are good for our souls.  And everyone's bottom line.
