Okay- enough.  Look, employers are paying people to do a job, as such
they get to tell you what the job is.  If they don't tell you upfront
then you can complain that things are outside of the job description. 
The fact is that EVERY job in theater has a dress code.  The vast
majority of puppetry jobs require you to do hard labor, wearing things
that frequently stink from sweat.  If it's a touring company you will
probably be required to drive a van, carry equipment (wearing 40+
pounds) into buildings, and wear a costume.  

If one wants to avoid jobs like that it is wisest to ask for a full copy
of the job description before applying.
