Have you thought about using an old computer with a
sound card and wav or other sound files? Use the down
arrow, hit enter, and it plays the file one time. Find
a way to either mic it up, or pipe it into your sound
system. We plan to do that with one of our old
computers(for cost effectiveness) for sound effects
and background music, although we haven't worked
through all of the logistics of such a system. I could
see it being done by a single puppeteer. It probably
wouldn't take much money for such a simple system.

I can write back with more details after we have this
up and running.
