On the other hand, a friend of mine was in a terrible accident many years 
ago. He needed to be airlifted to the hospital, have many surgeries, 
extensive hospital time and months of rehabilitation. The final costs added 
up to hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the man would not be walking now 
if not for his health insurance. I know many people go to their graves 
without seeing the inside of a hospital, but if you can find a way to be 
insured and still afford to eat, it may be wise to get it.
