There are a number of books that go in to how to work with paper mache.

would get is Helen Fling's book "Marionettes : How to Make and Work Them"

Fraser, I have two copies of this one one is $24.95 the other is $14.95
(very minor damage to spline) These are under used books general There are
two more that I would highly recommend these will not be on the site till
late tonight or early tomorrow First is "Marionettes" By Beaton a rare hard
to find book I will be offering it at $39 The there will also be my absolute
Favorite book the one I reference more than any other book in my Library
"The Complete Book Of Puppetry" By David Currell, This is also a hard to
find one, I will have it listed at $49
