Subject: PUPT: finger holes on papier mache heads

Hi to everyone on this list.

I work in a situation where four or five people may be scheduled to do the
same one-person program which includes a puppet show. This school year we are
doing a show with papier mache puppets (ie. heads made out of built-up
styrofoam and covered with commercial papier mache mixed with sculpt-or-coat).
The head fits on the puppeteer's one finger with the arms being controlled by
the thumb and another finger.
The problem we are having is that the neck finger hole is sort of "one size
fits all" and some people are finding it too big. We have been using batting
and wrapping felt around fingers but it doesn't work well.
If anyone out there has any suggestions on how to remedy this situation, we
would appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you.
Gary
