Subject: Re: PUPT: finger holes on papier mache heads

When I make a hand puppet, I first take a toilet paper roll (you know, the
inside cardboard) and cut it length-wise. I then determine how long I want
the neck to be, including the bit that's to go into the Styrofoam, and cut
off that length. I roll that piece of cardboard around my finger, then
tape it so it remains the size I want. So now I have a small
tube. I shove this piece into the Styrofoam ball. I then take it out,
and break off the Styrofoam that was in the tube, put glue around the tube
and re-insert it into the hole. Then I paper-mache' around the whole bit.

I hope I've made myself clear...it's a lot easier to demonstrate that to
describe with words alone.
