Subject: PUPT: RE:"Alice's Adventures Underground" Date: Sun, 22 Dec 2002 15:43:23 -0500 The award-winning Underground Railway Theatre has revived Debra Wise & Co.'s 1998 people & puppets production of their take on Lewis Carroll's "Alice" books, running this week only at the renovated 1980's Durrell Hall at the Camb YMCA on Mass. Ave. in Central Sq. There's one more evening show on Fri. the 27th and 3pm matinees through the 29th except on the 24th & 25th. Once again featuring Will Cabell, Derek Stearns, and Debra Wise, plus a half dozen local kids, the show is a fast-paced romp through the material, taken as a bit of a nightmare for Debra's thirty-something Alice. Cabell plays Carroll, plus the March Hare and the Frog Footman among other roles, Stearns reprises his role as Dad, plus the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter, etc. Two kids alternate as daughter Carol, the rest, a squad of Dream Children play various minor roles. Greg Smucker directs. Puppets range from hand-sized to towering creations. Cabell's ingenious scene-schange system for David Fichter's gorgeous silk scenery is worth the low price of admission. Call (781) 643-6916 in Arlington MA for tickets and information. _________________________________________________________________ MSN 8 helps eliminate e-mail viruses.
