Subject: Re: PUPT: Cell phones?
From: Christopher Hudert <heyhoot-AT-mindspring.com>

If you will only be using the cell phone very occasionally, and don't want
to get the track phone (or the like), just buy a phone card - the minutes
are really cheap and you can get just about any increment.
The "free" cell minutes are better thought of as inlcluded rather than
free, as you lose them if you dont use them. There are one or two companies
that roll over the minutes, but most all regular plans require a commitment
of a year or so.
If you want to be able to be contacted while out of town, a pager and a
phone card may be a better bargain. But be sure to check and see that you
have coverage in the area you will be traveling to. Some plans that are
cheaper have only local coverage. If you are going to be in an area for an
extended time and only want to have coverage there, maybe you should wait
until you get there and get a phone there.
Be sure to talk about puppets on the phone so that it relates to this list.

:-)
