Subject: PUPT: Introduction

Hello, all. I signed up for this email group a few days ago, and
thought
it was about time to introduce myself.
My name is Bob Stone, and I've been involved with hand puppets, black
light
puppets, and a unique puppetry
based real time animation process for over 30 (yikes!) years.

I began in 1968 working in New York for puppeteer Morey Bunin's company,

Aniforms Inc.
(later Comart-Aniforms). Morey had invented the real time animation
process
with which we could put what appeared to be an animated character on a
TV
monitor, or
projection screen, and have it have a two way conversation with the
audience. Working with
scripts, but with the ability to ad-lib when appropriate, we did a great

deal of
work for major corporations at sales meetings, press conferences, client

seminars, trade
shows and training videos. I had the opportunity to work with, and
learn
from, people like
Wayland Flowers, Jimmy Boyd, and Faz Fazakas (who later went on to work
with Jim Henson).

In the late 70's I moved to Los Angeles and another Aniforms
writer/performer moved to the
San Francisco area. When he decided to start doing the animation on his

own, he called me,
and we've been working together ever since. I call my company Serious
Comedy ("Court
jester to the military-industrial complex."). My web site is at
www.serious-comedy.com. It's pretty
simple, and I don't currently have my demo tape online, but there are a
lot
of pictures and
a description of what we do.

I've enjoyed reading your posts so far, and hope to have something to
contribute soon.

-Bob Stone
