Mirrormask is currently in production in the UK, its a very low budget movie ($4 Million) and doesn't really involve much if any puppetry, the majority of the effects are done in Computer animation.

The Henson's, Lisa in particular, had noticed (and been told by Columbia Tri-Star) that The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth had become pretty solid sellers on the video and DVD Market, that got them thinking about a possible "sequel" not a sequel to the films directly but a sequel in that it followed a similar genre. Lisa contacted Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean who penned the outline for the story. I don't think Brian Froud is involved.
