Something to consider when you are making new puppets, or doing major
redesign of old ones-

>From an engineering perspective, if what you are building *must* be made of
materials that will degrade over time, build the thing in a way that makes
it simplest to replace parts.  Easy for me to say, right?  Indeed.  It's
another factor that goes into the creative process.  To change the way you
think about the construction itself could end up making your puppets look
ridiculous.  Or not.  Maybe an innovation in construction could end up being
an innovation in look, feel, style.

The electronics industry learned the lesson of modular construction long
ago.  When I fried a channel on my 4 track recorder, it was just that - ONE
channel.  The repairman popped out the module and replaced it with a good
one.
