From: "JNJ" <jnj-AT-spamcop.net> Subject: PUPT: Careers in puppetry? Date: Sat, 18 Oct 2003 17:41:08 -0400 Ok, Laura's inquiries have inspired me to ask yet another of my own annoying, bothersome questions. :P I was a drama/vocal major back in high school (Creative Arts) although I haven't followed up on it in the 15 or so years since (can't believe I'm that old). My degree is in Psych and I'm near completion on a second bach in Social Sciences for that matter -- careers have been law enforcement, computers, etc. so not very much performing going on since those early days. :) FWIW, I've always REALLY enjoyed performing -- guess I'm a ham. Puppetry has my interest fairly solid but one's got to make a living, especially with a family. So my question: Just what kind of careers and money are there in puppetry? Is this just something very enjoyable or is it something one can truly turn into a career and be prosperous doing? Or should I just get a job waiting tables like everyone else in the entertainment industry? ;) James --- Personal replies to: "JNJ" <jnj-AT-spamcop.net> --- List replies to: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Admin commands to: majordomo-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu --- Archives at: http://lists.village.virginia.edu/~spoons
