Personally, I think that your giving up ownership of a show should cost the buyer *a lot*. Just think about the fact that that person can then do anything he wants with your work. My two cents, Brid -----Original Message----- From: Colin Dymond To: puptcrit-AT-lists.village.virginia.edu Sent: 10/1/03 3:32 AM Subject: Re: PUPT: help on commissioning a show Hi One of the hardest things to do when pricing your serviced is all the hidden time. I recently had to make up some magic kits for a client, I thought my initial price was going to bring me in a tidy profit, but when i thought about the time and money spent on phone calls trying to source the right stuff. Plus the hidden extras, bags, instructions etc, I just about broke even! I am now in the process of planning a show for a local adventure park. I have already spent several hours talking about the idea with a friend who may be a co-writer! I am thinking of selling the show with ownership of props and copywrite passing to the park, or with the props and copywrite staying with me. I still dont know on the percentage difference of the two ideas!
