Thanks John for sending the report.  The more people who know about the
state of things the better, but you really have to experience it first
hand and look into eyes to begin to understand.  
We were there a few years ago at the time of the famous handshake in the
US between Arafat and Rabin. We got ferried with all our gear in to
various Palestinian venues in UN vehicles, all very tense.  It was awful
then, and obviously much worse now.  We also played in East Jerusalem at
the Palestinian National Theatre, a converted cinema quite close to the
British and American embassies. The staff were all very kind, I wonder
if it is still there?
