Subject: PUPT: skit


       This is a skit I wrote for two live actors, but I feel that it could 
be performed by puppets as well. Enjoy.


Naughty and Nice

Dramatis PERSONAE

Faerie

Brute

The Scene

We open on a limbo stage.  The brute, a big, dangerous hulk of a creature 
(the kind
you don't like to meet on a dark alley) is at stage left, snarling and 
snapping.
   He notices the audience and makes a few menacing moves toward them.

ENTER STAGE RIGHT - The faerie, a sweetie . Gentle, good natured, perhaps clad
in stereotypical garb of tutu and wings. As she enters she notices the audience
and wavies at them. She's carrying a wand in one hand.

The Faerie notices the Brute and approaches him, perhaps to send a little
sunshine his way.  The Brute notices the Faerie and advances on her menacingly.
Just as it looks like the Brute will tear the Faerie to shreds, she touches him
on the head with her wand. *BLAMMO* (sound of a triangle).

This causes a drastic change in our brute. Where as before there was a menacing
animal, there is a gentle and sweet fur. The brute smiles, picks up flowers,
hugs a teddy bear etc. The brute then notices the Faerie and goes to give her a
nice, big hug.  The brute fawns over the faerie, giving lots of hugs and
affection.

The faerie, intially liking this, goes swiftly from liking this to 
toleration to
  annoyance.  She tries to get away but the Brute is all over her.  She touches
him with her wand again *BLAMMO* (sound of triangle).  This turns the brute 
back
  to viciousness again.

The Brute's gentle mannerisms melt away he tries to menace the Faerie.
Startled, the faerie pulls away from the Brute and starts to run, but the Brute
goes after her.  Thinking quickly she hits him over his head. *BLAMMO* 
(sound of
  triangle). Back to nice again.

The brute stops in mid menace, melting into the gentle beast we saw before.
Noticing the faerie he advances toward her, intending to hug her and 
squeeze her
  (and name her George).

The Faerie doesn't particularly care for this, having had enough of the Brute's
"love pats" previously.  *Blammo* (sound of triangle) as the faerie's wand
strikes home again....

But what's this?????????? The magic doesn't work! The brute still advances
toward her, intending to bearhug her to death.  Shocked, the faerie hits him
again *blammo* (sound of triangle).  No dice. Repeated hits do no good. She
starts to run to the right, exiting the stage as the (ex)Brute follows after
her.
