Subject: PUPT: Weldbond as a contact cement on foam!

Hi all!
Finally, I got around to try it, and it works!
To glue "mattress foam" to itself...

Instead of the non toxic rubber cement, and the hassle of cleaning up, and the bad smell of it (the smell is just as yucky even though it is non toxic.), Weldbond!

I can even clean my paintbrush, which you can't really do with rubber cement, unless youuise strong solvent.

I just accelerated the drying of both glue-prepped pieces with a heat gun until extra tacky (just after the glue has become transparent), then I pressed together, and let dry a few minutes before cutting and shaping.

>From memory, I'd say Weldbond works just as well as the non-toxic rubber cement, if not better.
That rubber cements used to curl up on me a lot, and was stubborn to get to the right tackyness before joining. Sets in place faster than rubber cement too.
And its not green!

Yet another smelly and expensive product I don't need to buy anymore. Weldbond makes me save so much money!

so far it, in my studio, Weldbond replaces:
-most glues
-painting medium(of most types, from the glazes to the texture mediums!)
-scealer
-stiffener!
