Copydex is a latex-based adhesive, hence rubbery and best suited to use with
fabrics. However, it's thicker and heavier than most commercial bulk latex
that I've come across (normally for use as carpet adhesive). I guess it's
80% rather than the usual 50% or 60% commercially available latex. It is
strong, but over time tends to yellow. Terminology can be misleading as in
most of Europe 'latex' describes what we call emulsion paint in the UK. Here
latex means a rubber based glue - and Copydex is the best know version used
for craft applications.

Jim Boulden told me about a glue made in the UK called "Copydex". This
sounds like a strong white contact cement yet safe to use. Dries very
rubbery. Has anyone tried it? I haven't had time to get over to Jim's
shop yet to see it. Does it have an strong inital tack or does it have to
evaporate some to have body?
