Subject: PUPT: a job, a class, and a request for research help

Dear puppet community,
I have three issues today: a job opening, a class to advertise, and a
historical research question.

Please respond with inquiries about the position and class to
drama711-AT-aol.com.

1. Job Opening: Blue Sky Puppet Theatre is a professional touring company
that specializes in educational/fine arts performing in elementary schools and
performance centers in the Baltimore/Washington DC area with additional
regional booking in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and New York. We're looking
for a full time company member to begin rehearsal in mid May 2004, performing
begins June 15. Two year commitment, excellent pay structure. No experience
necessary, we train. To request an application or for more information email
Director, Michael Cotter, at drama711-AT-aol.com - we will send you a complete
information package. In the meantime check out our website at
www.blueskypuppets.com. Because of stage restrictions, anyone under 5'4" or over 6'1" can't be
considered, also no smokers.

2. Puppet Theatre Summer School Workshop in conjunction with the University
of Maryland Theatre Department. I've been teaching this credited course since
1996 and it's become a well honed and popular story production class. It's 9am
to 12:30 pm Tuesdays and Thursdays from June 1st to July 8th . We mine
personal stories to come up with creative and eccentric puppet productions. Course is
held in the beautiful Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center on the College
Park campus in the Washington DC suburbs. Very student friendly. Email
drama711-AT-aol.com for more course description and registration information.

3. I've been commissioned (I'm probably going to regret this) by the
Smithsonian to produce a puppet production about the forces leading up to the American
Revolutionary War, to be produced in the style of a show that might be seen
from 1755 to 1776. I have the McPharlin book but would appreciate other
resources or information. Thanks.
