Simple suggestions:
-why not make a macromedia presentation?. Of course, projecting the computer
screen with those common school-popular projectors makes usually a much
inferior picture than slides, but hey, maybe it could suffice.

-there may be newer models o slides projectors that can be connected to a
computer (I'd go for laptop)

-Why not just have fun with real cinema reel and projectors? This way,
images and effects HAVE to be synchronised. And let's face it, film has a
special quality to it, yet unreproduced with any other media.

-for shadow work, i've recently seen an interesting effect. A graphic design
company made a "movie" using simple shadows, and macromedia flash! The
combination is a match made in heaven. They used a recent multimedia
projector to project on a simple pull-down white screen.
Imagine having twice as much shadows on your screen, with no extra
puppeteer! And special effects! I can see somone usign this projection as a
backdrop, or background level, even with some characters! And another
projection over it, his made in the usual shadow puppet way.
Am I dreaming, or is this last bit possible? Maybe with both back and front
projections?
