We had one of those faders hooked up to two Ektagraphic projectors at 
the museum that I worked at in the early 1980's. I made a fresh "Master 
Tape" for them from their last existing tape by using a two track reel 
to reel.  As i recall, I put the soundtrack on one track and inserted 
the bleeps in the correct places on the second track using a manual 
bleep emitting gizmo (wired remote) that came with the fader. I was 
then able to use the reel to reel tape to make new cassette copies as 
the old ones wore out. If my memory is correct, then this would mean 
that the fader used one track (left or right) of the stereo cassette 
for soundtrack and the other to read the beeps. Don't know if this 
helps. As others have suggested, going with a more modern, computerized 
solution might make more sense.
