There is no such thing as a 100% safe product. Most of the poducts mentioned
CAN be used safely. They can also be used, as can many others, quite
carelessly and dangerously. It is up to you to determine which one is the
safest for your application and make sure it is used as recommended and/or
with a degree of caution and common sense. You should be aware of things
like fire hazards and NEVER use anything untested or unknown around an open
flame (even a birthday candle). You would be surprised how many otherwise
safe household products are extreemly flamable when airated and/or exposed
deliberately or accidentally to an open flame, or in some cases something as
simple as a hot light bulb.
 And then there are allergies, reactions to strobes, and on and on. You can
never be 100% sure, but you CAN (and should) be reasonably cautious and
still use effects in your shows.
