Hi all!

I'm new to the list - just found out about it a couple
of days ago.

About puppets being for pre-school kids - I don't know
that I've ever actually heard that, but it's easy to
assume people think that by looking at the percentage
of children's educational shows that involve some form
of puppetry. (Disclaimer - I'm WAY past childhood and
love to watch Bear in the Big Blue House and Between
the Lions - for the puppets!)

The puppet troupe I'm involved with has done numerous
shows to kids at elementary schools, and it's the
pre-k's we lose the attention of the most! IMHO,
third grade is a good target audience for a kid's show
- not younger. Maybe it's an attention span thing. I
should go back to my developmental psych books to see
if they offer any insights...

Meanwhile, I'll be eternally grateful to Jim Henson
for proving to me that American adults can also be
entertained by puppets!

Cheers!

Beth
