Subject: PUPT: book open & close marionette

hello ..
the vancouver fringe is opening
and so is my marionette & shadown post modern puppet
show entitled "No Theory Will Save Us"
Rehersals are well under way
and my book puppet is still so troubled.

this is a 5 string marionette now
with 2 pages that open
with a simple cross with holes drilled through near
the center for pull strings with rings on them, which
tend to twist when i pull the pages open and stay
open for a bit..

i have really used the very helpful replies i got on
this list
it is a cardboard and cloth book i made that open
easily as the pages are made of stiff card and the
spine of the book is metal rings , the outside spine
is nice cloth book cover
so the page opening strings run from the centre edge
to the centre spine as sugested and strings run from
the top outside corners and the top and bottom of the
spine
and still she flips and flops about the stage and open
and closes randomely which may be effective enough as
the script i wrote does actually need the book to open
and close randomely .. however .. presently i am
seeking more grace from the book .. the book closed is
14.5" x11" x 2"
perhaps all i need is more rehersals .. however
tommow i will re string.. and hope that alone will
assist
if any y'all have experience with book marionette or
any insight ..
and if your in the 'hood'
www.stuartfolland.com/notheorywillsaveus.htm
has the info on the show date and times
please i will sent invite out tommow too .. after i
re.string..
thank you
randy gloria
puppeteer

====peace only love
