I loved Enid Blyton, too and yes, gasp, sometimes it still makes for good
bathroom reading or time-wasting during summer afternoons. and in case
anyone's wondering, i'm 25 years old this month. but i have some spice
to add: i heard that she was banned by the british government or
something for writing stuff that coorrupted young minds...does anyone
have the scoop on that? i was devastated that soemone who had defined
childhood for me (even though i didn't know what the *hell* a sycamore
tree was and when i saw one in new england a few years ago, i almost died
with excitement!) was being accused of feeding children subliminal
messages that made them dysfunctional later in life. i guess that would
explain a few things...
not that i *really* care, but since people are actually talking about
stuff i've read, i must get my two cents in...
