Yes, I suppose motherhood IS overrated, but my mother had a good time at it, despite the hard time I gave her...and somehow, there is no one ever as close to you as someone of your very own...maybe not...only God knows, I guess! I'm glad you like this poem...the memory of the father is that of my own father who had to leave me crying my head off as his train sped out of the train station in Jaipur in 1947...then I promptly forgot my pain as I played in my grandmother's garden chasing all sorts of flora, fauna, and bird life! I'd like to do some work on it...can you help me with parsing lines? Is that asking too much? I'm so poor at it! My goal, presumptuous though it is, is to write many poems capturing images from my life and describing them in poetic images...I read a book published by an American baseball player who after retirement, wrote about himself in poetry and essays. Take care and all the best! -Manjusree You wrote: > >Manju - thanks for yet another beautiful poem! >[[ - and believe me motherhood >is overrated;-)]] > >R > >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >http://www.pitt.edu/~gajjala/ >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ >~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > > >
