There is a wonderful article in the Sunday New York Times Magazine about
a man who decided to be silent on Sundays. He's writing a book about it
called "My experiments with Silence." 

I got to thinking about your frustration with our silence, Radhika, and
thought it might make you feel better to know we were all simply sharing
our silence, experimenting with its boundaries, falling into it
together, opening our minds to it. 

Gotcha, didn't we? <grin>.
