sachaalu weeps and wails
and i look at her in envy

in this too she is herself
in this too she has a way

while we quote our half familiar bibles
and half learnt upanishads

she cries in pure
poetry
bringing tears even to
my contact lensed eye

comforting me
by holding on to me

this is what it means
born of the earth
to understand seasons and cycles
with every breath of your being

to be abstract without ever
straying from reality

sachaalu's eyes deadened by pain
lighting up when she hands out a chocolate
as i choke on her spicy cooking

i learn this too from her
as i have learnt so many things..
in my eyes and in hers
is the certain knowledge...
that inevitably my time too shall come
as hers has..

his childhood dreams and thoughts floating with his

...

there is peace now.
