as an
asuya

grappled with issues of mind and body

overcoming asuyas of various kinds

it was still her privileged location that allowed her to be
cloaked
veiled
by matrimony
heterosexual
perfection

	still
not
	perceived as deviant

from heterosexual norm
alities
							except through her mind
							expressed
							aloud
							once too often
							to be shut down
								often

her camoflauge
			was easy

Paathivrathyam was sacred.

				ekalavya however had no such

					outer shell

no guise but his "mild" demeanour

[not considered Masculine enough in places of Power, they say]

as he dove into
a hyper heterosexual capitalist
world of accumulation and competition

			"the age of internet darwinism"
				with its
			"Survival of the fastest"

at the expense of the long-term
quick burn outs
short term fantasies

when long long ago Dronaacharya had already removed
			from him the means
to be successful on his own terms

in the name of a Mainstream for which he was not deemed heir enough....

perhaps...

For it is the Arjunas that must be placed on pedestals
[birthing mis-understood Abhimanyus with barely learned
survival skills

against his interest
and desire
pushed into war
lost in the padmavyuham...]

but whither Arjuna these days

and whither the song of reassurance for the confused elite?

Xena watches Aries with no godly powers...

as she reaches for more war paint
		lancome, este lauder, max factor

						ponders the pow(d)er puff girls...

Xena gazes....

where are the gods without their magic?

			Gabrielle the A(norexic)mazon queen(?)
			fast losing weight
to fit a vision as she fights

an aging Xena watches
the aging Aries
powerless
wondering if she should be envious of Gabriel's weightloss

lifting a 10 pound weight with one hand
reaching for chocolate comfort with another

but once again

whose gaze is it anyway?
