now i know why i rarely
unpack

spread out

knowing that if all my memories and treasures
pains and happinesses

stayed stored in boxes

i need not let the emotions
overcome

me

i can carry and hoard
hoard and carry

to my next location
location
location

un-packing
means
i have to understand the implications of what i have done
what has been done to me even
what others have been pushed aside in my onward journeys

journeying
setting aside

packing
re-packing

unpacking requires me to re-live
moments i ran away from
even as i face them

out of necessity or choice
does it really
matter
in
retrospect
what's done is done
what is was
what was is


unpacking is painful
knowing i can never settle in

unpack however i must
briefly though it may be

the pain must be faced....

of memories and losses and guilt...
