HI-TECH HINDUS
Hinduism has gone hi-tech in a temple in the Indian capital of New
Delhi, where robots now recite scriptures and enact scenes from Hindu
mythology.  Hollywood special-effects wizards have created eight
"mechanical gods" that resemble Hindu figures and deities, including
Lord Krishna.  All robots can move their faces, arms, fingers and heads
and speak with voices provided by actors.
They started preaching last week at a New Delhi temple of the
International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON).  The 200
million rupee "Glory of India Vedic Cultural Centre" temple complex was
opened by PM Atal Behari Vajpayee.
