Although focused on the west, Chesler's Women and madness and 
Showalter's The Female Malady (Penguin Books) might be helpful.

Are you interested in the Bhakti movement and women's religious
(ecstatic) madness?  Manushi had a special issue a few years back
on women in the Bhakti movement that you might find interesting.
There has been some work on "bhar" or South Asian women who become 
possessed as a way of protest.
