Applicants should demonstrate a broadly interdisciplinary orientation in their work and should have distinguished records in teaching and research. Candidates who meet these criteria will be considered from any discipline in the arts, humanities, social sciences, or sciences. A genuine commitment to undergraduate education at a women's college is essential. The holder of the Chair is expected to provide creative direction for the College's interdisciplinary program. The Chair carries with it reduced teaching responsibilities, access to research funds and the possibility of directing the fully-funded Humanities Institute of Scripps College.
