Subject: CFP: disClosure #8, peregriNations

*** Call For Papers ***

disClosure, a journal of social theory, is accepting:
  * article manuscripts
  * literary submissions
  * art submissions
for its 1998/9 issue entitled "peregriNations." In keeping with the
journal's interdisciplinary mission, submissions are not bound to content,
form or matter, but rather need only engage with the concept of nation or
nationalism.

disClosure's editorial collective comprises graduate students and faculty
associated with the Committee on Social Theory at the University of
Kentucky. An annual journal, the publication is released in late-winter and
includes material from a wide range of intellectual sites. Articles have
broadly engaged material of interest to readers in the humanities, social
sciences, and arts. In the past, editorial collective members have
interviewed:
David Roediger, Linda Alcoff, Alexander Cockburn, Jane Flax, David Harvey,
Chantal Mouffe, Gloria Anzaldua, Paul Taylor, Cindi Katz, and others. Art
and poetry submissions from international contributors and more local sites
have also appeared in disClosure as important expressions relating to the
themes considered.

Deadline: March 31, 1998

Directions: Articles should be submitted in triplicate hard copy and on
computer disk (noting platform and application, e.g. Mac MS-Word 7).
Manuscripts, notes, and bibliographies should follow MLA standards.

Art and other graphic material may be submitted as transparencies, prints,
or electronic files (with hard copy provided for proofing). Please do not
submit material that has been half-toned for publication (e.g., pictures in
books or catalogues).

Authors are responsible for securing copyright and fair-use notices and
must submit them prior to disClosure publication.

Submissions should appeal to a broad-range of engaged readers.
