THE PACIFIC UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST REGIONAL CONFERENCE FOR UNDERGRADUATE PHILOSOPHERS Friday-Sunday March 31 - April 2, 2000 Pacific University Forest Grove Oregon The Philosophy Club of Pacific University invites all undergraduate philosophers to submit a paper for the conference. The purpose of this conference, which is initiated and organized by students, is to provide a forum for the presentation of philosophical work of undergraduates to their peers. Papers are required to be of philosophical content, but there are no specific restrictions on subject matter within the arena of philosophical discussion itself. We suggest that papers range between eight and twelve pages so that they contain enough material to fill a twenty- to thirty-minute presentation. Group papers are also welcome. Submissions must be received on or before February 14, 2000 and individuals whose papers have been accepted will be notified by February 29, 2000. Please indicate on the supplied form if you are willing to chair a session or provide commentary on someone else's paper in the event that you are not selected to present. An introductory dinner will be provided Friday evening at 7:00 pm, to welcome those who have registered for the conference. Presentations will begin mid-morning after breakfast on Saturday, break for lunch, and adjourn at approximately 6:00 pm. In the evening, students are encouraged to continue the conference informally as they explore Forest Grove; Portland is also accessible via public transportation (bus and light rail). The same schedule will be followed on Sunday with the conference officially concluding at 1:00 pm. We encourage those attending the conference to pre-register on or before March 12, 2000 for a fee of $15. It is also possible to register at the conference for the fee of $18. Since we provide dinner on Friday evening, breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, and lunch on Saturday, the registration fees help to defray the costs of the meals.
