"Call for Papers"

_Xcp: Cross-Cultural Poetics_, a journal publishing innovative,
interdisciplinary works in poetry/poetics, ethnography, and cultural &
performance studies, seeks previously unpublished essays or other writings for
its upcoming issues:

_Xcp_ no. 7, "Everyday Life" (deadline: June 15, 2000)
     For our next issue, we are particularly interested in work that addresses,
engages or critiques in unique ways Michel de Certeau's _The Practice of
Everyday Life_.  Poetry and essays with an anthropological, cultural studies or
performance studies perspective that examine this theme will also be gladly
accepted.

_Xcp_ no. 8, "Authenticating (Dis)Locations" (deadline: November 1, 2000)

_Xcp_ no. 9, (check our website for theme announcement, sample works and
complete table of contents for all published issues, and subscription
information, http://bfn.org/~xcp) (deadline: April 1, 2001)

_Xcp_ no. 10, "X-Cultural Dictionary" (deadline November 1, 2001)

Submissions of interviews that might address one of the above themes are also
gladly accepted.

Past contributors to _Xcp: Cross-Cultural Poetics_ include Lila Abu-Lughod,
Amiri Baraka, Rachel Blau DuPlessis, Nathaniel Mackey, and Gerald Vizenor.
