Presents

Voyages & Debarkations:  Journeys, Arrivals, and their Aftermath

An interdisciplinary conference to be held on
February 9-10, 2001

We invite submissions for papers on a broad range of topics, including but
not limited to:
^À metaphorical and concrete representations of travel and the voyage
^À interurban contact and the city
^À borders
^À experience of the immigrant & receiving culture
^À native/non-native distinction
^À theory of the body and sexuality
^À language acquisition
^À discourse analysis
^À study abroad/language diary studies
^À semiotics
^À historical linguistics

Please send a one-page abstract for a 20 minute presentation (to be given in
