Dear All,

This is to let you know that we have just received the following letter from
the administration of the Institute for Advanced Computing in the Humanities,
where the Spoon lists have been hosted for the past decade. The climate
change comes in the wake of John Unsworth leaving the Institute.

Yours,

Malgosia Askanas
of the Spoon Collective

Malgosia,

I am very sorry for not responding to you earlier. We have been
reevaluating our mission and commitments and I was waiting for the
completion of that process before communicating with you. As it turns out,
your decision to retire the lists anticipates a change in our policy with
respect to the commitment of resources. We intend to gracefully discontinue
support of projects that are not part of our core mission. Unfortunately
this changes means that we will be unable to support the Spoons Collective
archive. I recommend that you "shop around" for a library or archive that
would be interested in providing continuing access to it. We can continue
to support it in the near term, while you investigate your options. I am
sorry for the inconvenience of this change in policy, but our resources are
limited while it seems our commitments are not.

Regards,
Daniel

Daniel V. Pitti, Associate Director
Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities
