Subject: Re: electronic exhibition

After this idea first came up, I contacted a friend in Seattle who is
currently putting together an exhibition of my work for his on line
gallery. He also would be interested in working on something like this.

Did I mistake the fact that Pierre said he had 15MB of disc space? My
friend thought he could work with Pierre on this, if I read the above
correctly.

Yes, getting FIRM COMMITTEMENTS is a major hurddle, however, its not
like we are renting a building to hold this exhibition in.Therefore,
the time-elemement isn't as critical. Also, I will be in Paris & London
in October, and can "pick-up" slides, or CD-ROM scanned disks if this
would help. The biggest problems I forsee have more to do with
judgement calls, for example:

We COULD just as easily, shoot for the "big one", as have a minor
exhibition... why not declare this somewhat on the order of the first
International Surrealist (and associated) visual exhibition on the WWW.

Equally, as this would leave out the participation of many people who
are deeply involved in Surrealism, but NOT in the visual end, why not
utilize ARTlab, which is already set-up as an electronic clearing house
and publisher, to link written material to the visual exhibition?

I would think, that the larger, more stupendous we make the effort, the
less problem we might have with getting work for it.

As Barrett has already mentioned, he, I and Celine, through ARTlab,
went round and round on all of this for about 1 1/2 years... we did
successfuly "publish" 4 issues of a portfolio, so we have some
preliminary steps already worked out.
