Despite i am saying i obviously agree with you in the main question about censorship against sex or eroticism you try to push me for the opposed side of the barricade. Probably my "political ethos" as you mentioned before and my strongly opposition to fascists, stalinists, capitalists and so on (sincerely i struggle for the extinction of all sort of state or economical power based on oppresion and man`s explotation by any manner) seems to be the reason very unreasonable you are facing me as your opponent. I don`t believe you are doing this because i talked with Gregg and through him with canadian group about the exhibition. Well, i read somewhere we need to mention the groups contacted and so i sent my own contribution speaking about Lisbon group and also about canadian or at least Vancouver group. I never imagined i will open another controversy with you or anyone because to mention the confirmation from the canadian group (or to be exact from Vancouver group). Very sorry but when you say "... but the moment you start saying i am not allowed to do something or believe some way, or read some book, etc.", you mean i am saying that ????? but i am not saying that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Most probaably i will not participate on this exhibition but i will do all endeavours to get the participation of the other companions of the movement independently of such controversial questions and of any divisions between some groups. I believe this is very important to point a strong presence of surrealism by the reasons already mentioned by some companions here. Frankly the most important for this presence of surrealism it is not, in my opinion, the personal presence of one or two activists of surrealism, even if they given a particular contribution for the movement in very difficult political periods. If you really think "we are in another world, and that is what, and that is ALL you have ever objected to" so, the most easy way is to let the things as you decided. I am not saying you are wrong concerning Simpson`s opinions about sex - i am just saying we only may exclude any surrealist member whose behaviour be against the principles and purposes of the exhibition namely any attempts to censor any theme or subject. I am not saying more than this. cheers carlos (very sorry if any misunderstanding about you really meant) http://www.openart.com/artistes/martins/accueil.htm
