I quite agree with Stuart, and my negative feelings about art
& artists solely stem from the fact that there is so much
pretentious crap out there. Surrealists are in generel NOT
coverred by this negativity (i wouldn't consider myself
surrealist otherwise), and I would only apply the word "art"
to surrealism in lack of a better term. 

We could try to find a platform by making some questionnaire
and sending it off to each one in this discussion group. Does
anybody have any ideas about this? I'm not thinking about
making a third manifesto (at least not yet: but if we really
have gotten beyond "ordinary surrealism" in some way, then
we should address this point later), nor about introducing
some kind of orthodoxy, I'm just saying we should think
about what we agree on....

Oh yes, I don't know how imminent the purchase of a
scanner was in Leeds.... I might have misunderstood. Anyway,
I'm going to visit Kenneth this week-end, are anybody else
>from the UK planning to do that too (how about you Stuart?)?
